Thomas Beatie is Pregnant Again

Remember earlier this year all the talk about Thomas Beatie (the now man that was once a woman) being the first man to give birth?  Well he gave birth to a little girl as you may recall back in June, but in an interview with Barbara Walters today he revealed……

He’s Pregnant again! That’s right the world’s first pregnant man is going to have another baby. What’s your take on all this? Is this just old news now that he’s already done this once before or will it fuel angry mobs?

Before anyone tells me he was a woman I do know this, in fact he grew up as a girl named Tracy.  He/she even entered a beauty pageant at age 14.  Course we all know that later he/she would become a transgender. However, he didn’t remove all parts, obviously if he can get pregnant. I mean we all know a real man can’t have a baby, at least not yet.*  Okay ya’ll let me know at you think.

(*I say this as I once told my husband when a man can give birth we’d get pregnant again)

I’m rather offended by your comment that a real man can’t have a baby.

People are whatever gender they say they are.

Maybe you meant that a person born biologically as a man cannot have a baby. I think that’s probably what you meant.

  2. Marijke says:

Gender and sex aren’t the same thing. Thomas’ sex is MALE and males cannot give birth.

I personally think the whole situation is a tad ridiculous. I understand, accept, and support a person who feels he or she was born into the wrong body, but that implies that person does not want the things that come with being his or her original gender. For a woman, this means pregnancy.
Her argument (I will not call a person with a uterus a man) that it is not a male or female desire to have a biological child is valid, but that, in my mind, doesn’t apply to having that biological child growing inside of you. That, to me, is a very female desire, which means that she is still thinking like a woman.
I don’t claim to know what she is thinking and feeling. I don’t know what it’s like to want to be a man, so I can’t say that I’m right or wrong, but these are my thoughts on the subject.

If the human wants to be a man, then why does this human insist on bearing children. That is a woman’s job, plain and simple.

  5. zjojor says:

I guess he/she wanted to have his/her cake and eat it too. People are just never satisfied. I wonder what his/her child or children will call him/her? “mom/ dad”?

  6. Scott says:

You mean I can be whatever gender I say I want to be? In that case I can be whatever species I want to be as well right? I’m a hermaphrodite tiger….ggrrrrowwww!!!

  7. Gina says:

“He” is a man only due to hormone therapy and surgery. “He” is not a pregnant “man”, IMO.

  8. Anna says:

    What Gina said.

When a real man gets pregnant, that will be news. This is just sensationalism.

  9. Susan Huffer says:

I would like to personally say to Thomas Beatie and his wife that I think it is wonderful they have been able to have their own child! BRAVO!!! What difference does it make whether a male or a female give birth to a child? My husband and I were not able to have a child, so we adopted.
