The other day I posted an article on the Top 10 Foods Babies should Avoid, today we are going to talk about those first finger foods babies can have. Do you remember those first finger foods your baby ate? What were they? I remember I would smoosh them for the longest time, when my baby

finally got old enough to be able to grasp them they were diced. It was the facial expressions I’ll never forget, even today when he eats chicken he gets the weirdest expressions, I’m guessing it is the texture. His favorite finger food is peaches and pears, least favorite is peas.
10 Finger Foods
1 banana
2 cooked peas
3 peaches (sliced)
4 cheerios
5 mac n cheese (cut up)
6 carrots (cooked and sliced)
7 cheese slices
8 tortillas
9 crackers
10 chicken (shredded)
Does your toddler have any favorite finger foods?

Changing Diapers: Does He Do it?

For many they have a fair share of responsibilities, however there are some that have one spouse/partner that doesn’t exactly do their share. Do you have a spouse that does this? My

husband is actually one of those, in fact he will state that he can count the amount of times he changed a bottom on his two hands between all the kids. By the way, we have four children and the youngest is being potty trained now. I’ll also state that while he likes to state this it isn’t entirely true but for the most part he is correct, he’s changed about 20-40 out of 4 kids. I decided to take this not only to twitter but to facebook as well and see how many responded.
Here are some excuses men will give to not change diapers:
- You are better at it.
- I’ve been working all day.
- It stinks.
- It’s a woman’s job.
- She’s a girl, I can’t change her.
Have you got an excuse that you’ve heard, share it here? I will update this post at another date to let ya’ll know the funny excuses.

I just watched the cutest video from Evian Water, there are a ton of babies skating around and doing tricks. I couldn’t help but oooh and awww and crack up laughing when I watched so I just had to share it with you. If you loved those dancing babies from about 10 years ago, I’m sure you’ll love these babies. Oh and if you have a baby nearby they will surely get a kick out of watching this video.
5 Foods Babies Should Avoid

I remember all the worries of being a new mom and all those dangerous things that you should or shouldn’t give your baby. Many things I didn’t even know, some I thought should be avoided

IMG: Sxc.hu
weren’t and others that I had no clue should were. Does this sound like you? Here’s a short list of 5 things you should avoid giving your baby at least until they are at least 3 years old.
Foods Babies Should Avoid: (in whole)
hot dogs
raw vegetables
raisins
nuts and seeds
whole grapes
Do you or have you ever given your baby these? Keep in mind that if you are giving them these items to make sure they are cut/diced/sliced up so your baby won’t choke on them. If you are giving it to them don’t leave them unattended. A few other items you might want to be careful of are peanut butter, candy that sticks (carmel, etc) and popcorn (because of the seeds). Can you think of some other food items that aren’t safe for your baby?

The CPSC has called a voluntary recall on over 4 million floats this past Thursday due to the child seats being able to

Aqua-Leisure has recalled 14 different styles of inflatable floats that they’ve made. While you may not have to, it is voluntary and the CPSC is asking that you return them to the company. At this time there is nothing stating if you will be sent a new one or reimbursed.
Here’s what the CPSC site says:
Hazard: The leg straps in the seat of the float can tear, causing children to unexpectedly fall into or under the water, posing a risk of drowning.
Incidents/Injuries: There have been 31 reports of float seats tearing, causing children to fall into or under the water. No injuries have been reported.
Head over to the CPSC for pictures of which ones are being recalled.
Wordy Wednesday: The Slide

How many of you have a child that absolutely loves the slide? I had three babies that loved the slide and a fourth that was terrified. Thinking of the slide reminds me of my

first child’s 1st slide, he was just about to turn 2 so we got him his own little one. Course it was small enough that we could have it in the house or outside, which made it great when the weather was bad. But I remember he’d just sit on the top of that slide and read books, or pretend to anyways. Today, even though he’s 12 he still goes down but only on the big twisty ones and normally with one of his younger siblings.
Here’s a pic of the youngest going down the slide at the office picnic we went to last week. Doesn’t he look like he’s having a blast? You wouldn’t know a few minutes prior to this he’d fallen down and hurt himself. Happy Wordless Wednesday!
Mailman Finds a Baby

A mail carrier in Ohio was doing his usual route when suddenly he stopped at a house he normally just passed by.

The baby girl looked healthy despite being covered with blood and her own waste, Herron said. Her umbilical cord was still attached. She has pale skin and black hair and weighs about 7 pounds.
Currently the baby girl is being called, “Baby Samantha” and she’s doing just fine. However, had this mailman not noticed her she could’ve had a different outcome. The police are searching for relatives of this baby girl, but so far no word if that has happened. It has been stated that if they do not find anyone she will go into foster care.
As for what the mailman has to say to these parents:
“I wish whoever this baby belonged to would have dropped it off at a hospital or to a fire department because the baby was in the direct sun and who knows how long she’d been there,“ Herron said.
Lotto Winners Collect, Then Give Birth

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when I read the following story. (it happened at the beginning of the month) I mean

IMG: Sxc.hu
Well they weren’t exactly hurrying to get to the hospital. They stopped off to collect their winnings. How much did they win? $250,000. No they may not be rich but they sure can afford some new baby clothes and diapers for a while. I guess this baby wanted some expensive onesies and made sure to wait just long enough for mom and dad to pick up that money.
So if you would’ve found out that you had just won a huge chunk of change from the lottery and went into labor, what would you have done? Now, just how lucky are you? Congrats to the happy couple who, at least for a while, does not have any big finances to worry about.
