c-section had to be done and the baby girl was born 3 months early. With all that being stated the baby is in stable condition and mom is still recovering.

So far it has been kind of hush-hush and we got to hear of the birth and that mom and baby were recovering, however new news has come out. Doctors sound worried that if Michelle Duggar had anymore pregnancies many things could go wrong.

Doc. Harper told ABCNews of the following issues:

-  The more children you have, the more likely the placenta will implant in an inopportune place such as over the cervix (placenta previa). “You run the risk of developing problems with the placenta attachment,” Harper said. 

-  stretches the mother’s pelvic muscles and ligaments, sometimes to the point of causing uncomfortable or embarrassing problems.

-  Moms who’ve had multiple pregnancies usually have short labors. 

- ”The abdominal wall will lose all tone, causing intestinal hernias as well as putting intestines at risk for volvulus [a bowel twisted in a loop],” 

I must agree with the second one, while I’ve only given birth to four I have experienced a quicker birth with each child and I deliver pizzas. (30 minutes or less)

Of course there is always the risk of death or bleeding. Some doctors believe it isn’t how many kids a woman has but the age at which she has them. It is believed that babies will be born with genetic abnormalities such as down syndrome. With all this in mind and the loss of life to a mother of 19 children, do you think she should have more kids?

Do you think she’ll do any operations that would prevent her from getting pregnant in the future? Or will she risk it? Honestly I hope she tries to prevent it, I’d hate to see this kill her or hurt her family.

Whether he was premature or right on time one thing is for certain and that’s the fact that he was definitely not stopping, even though the plane was headed to Salt Lake City, they had to do a detour to Denver instead.

The Examiner reports:
A passenger who was eight months pregnant was seated in the row in front of Dr. John Saran, an internal medicine specialist working at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. The good doctor hadn’t delivered a baby since medical school 30 years earlier. In fact, he was dozing off, probably dreaming about his family’s ski holiday in Utah, when he was shaken awake by his wife, who had heard the pilot ask if there was a doctor on the flight. He remembers her saying frantically, “John, wake up, wake up, you’ve got to help deliver this baby!” It wasn’t a dream.

According to news reports it  took about 15 minutes, the family was in the back of the plane with mom laying on the floor. There were actually two nurses and a doctor on board, I’m unsure whether they were part of the staff or just passengers, either way she was very lucky to have them all there. Since deliveries don’t normally happen on airlines they weren’t entirely prepared, when the baby was born someone took their shoelace out to help tie the umbilical cord off. Once the plane landed they were met by an ambulance where it took mom and baby immediately to the hospital.

TIPS: For those that may not know, most doctors (if not all) will advise you not to board a plane in between 32-40 weeks.

A little infant girl was found hidden amongst two strollers and a toy, in the backseat of the car. No clue if the mom would’ve told police she’d been there or where mom had disappeared to as that part isn’t made clear. The woman was arrested and is now being charged with child abandonment.

A few minutes later the man was arrested. No clue why they’d just leave their child unless they did not realize there was someone watching them and they just left her in the car during burglaries. EEek. Scary thought.

KXII reports:

Police early Monday arrested a man and woman on complaints of receiving and concealing stolen property. The infant’s mother also faces an additional complaint of child abandonment.

Police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow says an officer first spotted the car parked illegally on the wrong side of the street. Two people were inside the vehicle, but the officer saw the woman walk away from the car toward a house.

Wardlow says a 7-month-old baby girl was later discovered in the back seat of the car, covered by two strollers and a large toy.

Hopefully the baby was being taken care of. It was never mentioned if the baby was inside a carseat or on the back seat.

Believe it or not this is actually baby number three for the happy couple and the others weren’t as big, however he was the first boy. Do you think it mattered that he was the first boy?

According to news reports, Wendi actually weighed a little more than 10lbs at her own birth so maybe it has something to do with her birth rate. Not sure, it states the doctors actually had to break her shoulders at birth to get her out. OUCH.

Axel’s mother and father, Wendi and Michael Dolton of Rochester, Minn., told the TODAY Show this weekend that they knew their infant would be big, at least 12 pounds, but they weren’t expecting the baby to weigh in at 15 lbs.

Wendi Dolton says she too was a big baby, and weighed more than 10 lbs. at birth. She said doctors had to break her shoulders to deliver her.

Axel is the Dolton’s third child and their first boy.

The baby just wanted to have a very special day for her birth, the little girl was born right there during all the festivities. Grandma was running back and forth to help her daughter give birth and make sure her turkey didn’t burn. I thought that was cute because I remember all too well trying to make a nice Thanksgiving meal and dealing with four kids. I can’t even picture what it would’ve been like to actually have someone in the house about to give birth and knowing you may have to deliver if the amublance doesn’t get there fast. Grandma had called 9-1-1 however the dispatcher had to walk her through the process. The baby girl was born before they got there.

Hopefully this mommy got a bit of turkey before being taken to the hospital. Congratulations to Africa, hope you and your baby are doing just fine.

Hazard: The hammock can flip over, posing a serious fall hazard and strangulation hazard to infants who become entrapped in the seat’s restraint straps while upside down.

Description: The recalled baby hammock is a cream-colored canvas and hangs from a wooden pole. The hammock measures about 29 x 43 inches. It has three restraint straps with red buckles and is attached to a cushioned pad for the infant. A mounting fixture, also called a fixing set, is sold with the hammock. “La Siesta” is printed on a tag located below the restraint straps. Model number YABN-1 is printed on a white tag sewn into the hammock’s side seam.

I figured out why I never liked these, it reminded me of the bigger version and I’ve fallen out of those a number of times. I’d never put a child in if I can’t lay in one.

The announcement has been made that the Storkcraft company will recall 2.1 million cribs that have the drop down sides. Keep in mind drop down sided cribs have been looked at badly in the past year, especially with all the past recalls. Currently there has been four deaths because of these cribs and we don’t want anymore.

By the way the recalls are for a repair kit to fix the cribs and they do advice you not to do it yourself without the kit.

CPSC:

The cribs’ drop-side plastic hardware can break, deform, or parts can become missing. In addition, the drop-side can be installed upside-down, which can result in broken or disengaged plastic parts. All of these problems can cause the drop-side to detach in one or more corners. When the drop-side detaches, it creates space between the drop-side and the crib mattress. The bodies of infants and toddlers can become entrapped in the space which can lead to suffocation. Complete detachment of drop-sides can lead to falls from the crib.

CPSC, Health Canada, and Stork Craft are aware of 110 incidents of drop-side detachment; 67 incidents occurred in the United States and 43 in Canada. The incidents include 15 entrapments; 12 in the U.S. and three in Canada. Four of the entrapments resulted in suffocation: a 7-month-old in Gouverneur, N.Y.; a 7-month-old in New Iberia, La.; a 6-month-old in Summersville, W.Va.; and a 9-month-old in Bronx, N.Y. Included in these incidents are 20 falls from cribs; 12 in the U.S. and eight in Canada. Fall injuries ranged from concussion to bumps and bruises. The cribs involved in these incidents had plastic drop-side hardware that had broken, missing, or deformed claws, connectors, tracks, or flexible tab stops; loose or missing metal spring clips; stripped screws; and/or drop-sides installed upside-down.

This recall involves Stork Craft drop-side cribs and Stork Craft drop-side cribs with the Fisher-Price logo. This recall does not involve any cribs that do not have a drop-side. This recall does not involve any cribs with metal rod drop-side hardware. It involves only those cribs with plastic trigger and one-hand-system drop-side hardware.

This recall includes Stork Craft cribs with manufacturing and distribution dates between January 1993 and October 2009. This recall also includes Stork Craft cribs with the Fisher-Price logo that have manufacturing dates between October 1997 and December 2004. The Stork Craft cribs with the Fisher-Price logo were first sold in the U.S. in July 1998 and in Canada in September 1998. The cribs were sold in various styles and finishes. The manufacture date, model number, crib name, country of origin, and the firm’s name, address, and contact information are located on the assembly instruction sheet attached to the mattress support board. The firm’s insignia “storkcraft baby” or “storkling” is inscribed on the drop-side teething rail of some cribs. The couple named their little girl, Kia Carens, in honor of her birth or maybe that should be in honor of the place she entered the world. Samantha stated that the birth went rather fast but she was thankful that the nurses came over quickly and helped out because she didn’t like the sight of the umbilical cord. I don’t think I would’ve either.

Between Samantha Smyth and her partner, Tony Richardson, they had five children and this little baby girl made six. Tony said the car they currently had only fit four, which could make things quite the adventure when it came time to pick them up or take them places. The good news for this happy and I’m sure very excited couple, Kia heard the story and decided to donate a 2009 Kia Carens to the family so they’d have their own vehicle to remember the birth.

Imagine what would’ve happened if they had driven some other vehicle instead of a Kia. Could you think of other car names?

Fox59 News reported:

Detectives said two suspects forced their way into a home on Friday morning and began ransacking the house. Police said that when a baby started crying, one of them warmed a bottle in a microwave oven and gave it to a child to feed the baby.

The two thieves have been caught and will go to trial soon. I’ll keep you posted on any further news. Thankfully no one was harmed in this robbery attempt.

Bobbye is now the mother of four children, at least two were home with her this particular Friday and when her water broke she knew she had no time. Quickly calling her mother, who immediately called 9-1-1 to get some help. Only the paramedics wouldn’t get there in time, her 3-year-old freaked out and amazingly her 2-year-old went into action and helped his mommy out.

Jeremiha actually went and grabbed his momma a towel and helped deliver (catch) his baby brother when the time came. According to all reports this would’ve been about 2-3 minutes after her water broke. Talk about one quick labor. Now we may all be impressed that this little 2 year old could deliver a baby, it kind of made me laugh that his mom actually had to open the door. Thankfully the entire thing went without a hitch, of course not including having to give birth at home. Kamron Taylor, the newborn came in weighing 7lb 4oz. Congratulations to this happy family.

So if you were to give birth at home would you have a helpful two year old or the scared 3 year old? I think I’d have a mixture, thankfully I don’t plan on giving birth ever again. (I have four of my own)
