Maclaren has issued a one million recall on strollers, all due to fingertip amputation. Yes, as it sounds, OUCH.ue to the way the stroller folds it allows the fingers to get in the way and possibly get lacerated or worse…fall off.
Maclaren has had 12 cases so far, which is why they’ve decided to do the recall. The strollers have a big M on it and the name Maclaren written down the side of the stroller, making it hard to miss. The strollers sold between $100-$350 at stores.

As many know, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has set up some new guidelines and it seems the first victim is Disney. Apparently some really did believe that having their baby watch a movie would make them become a genious.  Currently Disney has released the following information for all those Disney Baby Einstein Video fans:

For those of you with a tiny tot, the Baby Jogger LLC of Richmond,
Virginia has recalled over 41,000 of the Baby Jogger Mini Strollers due to a malfunction in the seatbelt.   The seatbelts can come undone on their own or by the child/infant, this of course would allow the child to become unbuckle and possibly fall out.

This week there were actually three baby recall alerts from various companies. I don’t know about you but to me this gets a bit frightening, thankfully I didn’t have any of

The CPSC has called a voluntary recall on over 4 million floats this past Thursday due to the child seats being able ttear. These seats are the ones that the baby will sit in while swimming around a pool, since these are the one thing that makes sure your baby stays safe from drowning you probably want to return it.

Hazard: The wooden crib slats can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers.

There’s been another toy recall and this one is for Infantino so if you have any of the following toys you may want to look more into them: Infantino Lil’ Chef Set, Infantino Activity Stacker and the Infantino Tag Along Chime Trio.

A huge recall on infant garments, this time it is the taggie garments. These little sleepers might look cute but they have buttons that can come detached posing a choking hazard.
The July 2008 recall involved two Taggies™ Sleep ‘n Play style infant garments: the Butterfly Applique’ and the Fun Dog Print. Subsequent to the recall, two additional Taggies Sleep ‘n Play styles, manufactured before July 1, 2008, were identified as also having snap issues. I’m not sure how many of you have bought these but they are little pacifiers that are flashing. These may look cute or help you find the baby in the dark (that is just a joke) but they are being recalled. These were NOT meant for babies. Apparently the pacifier can fall apart which poses as a choking hazard.

Back in June there was a big recall on 320,000 Jardine Cribs, then near the end of the year there was yet another recall on the Jardine. Why the recalls? The wooden crib slats were a bit flimsy and would break, making a gap that a baby could get stuck between. Total, at least back then was 42 incidents, 4 of which were babies trapped in the space.
