Update: My Baby is Broke

As you know the x-rays were taken yesterday and we waited for a call back from the doctor. This actually didn’t take long, they called to inform us that not just one but two bones were broke in her wrist. It’s the area that connects the hand to the wrist. She was put in a brace and told to keep it propped up over night and not let anything squish it, ie, her body when she slept.

Today: Hubby and BabyGirl drove to their appointment promptly at noon to wait for hours at the doctors office. Quickly they went from one place to another, they had to go from the hospital to our doctor to get the x-rays and then from one hospital to the next for the other stuff. I waited as patiently as a mother at home could. I texted him constantly to see how she was. (yes, I’m THAT type of mom)

….she’s getting a cast….

“What color?” was my response.

….no clue….just heard….in waiting area AGAIN.

I couldn’t help but laugh, this is a man that could wait for enemy fire but get him to wait in a hospital room was just not him. He was constantly sending pics of her as she colored in her pretty bandana sling we had made for her as they waited. Then nothing, I just waited.

A car sounded in the drive and I heard tiny footsteps and laughing. My heart lifted and I quickly stood up to watch her tiny legs climb the stairs. She of course was so proud of her bright pink cast they she immediately showed it off. I’ll be posting pics for tomorrow’s Wordless Wednesday. Thank you all once again for the stories you’ve shared, you’ve made this GUILTY mom, a little less guilty.
