What Babies Need to Have

A quick glance of the headlines this morning lists product recall after product recall. So many of the things we bring into our houses are so bad for our children, for us and for the environment.
My son has just had a birthday party, so we are drowning in new toys that I haven’t even had a chance to look over. Our baby, when she arrived, was given gifts by everyone we met. I’m not a big shopper, but even I overdo it for birthdays and Christmas.
The truth is that the only new things a baby needs are a crib matress and a carseat. They need about 3 outfits, a few sleepers and about 10 onesies/bodysuits at a given time. They don’t need any toys, but one special thing to cuddle can come in handy.
Remember, the fewer things you buy, the less you have to worry about product recalls. I, for one, already have enough to worry about.
