This is so exciting….
Amber, of Amber’s Kitchen. :::music plays in the background.::::Crowds cheer::::
Amber…Come on DOWN! You have won this amazing, super-collosal chocolate extravaganza created especially for you by Hershey’s Chocolate!
:::Amber runs excitedly down the center aisle…tears of joy running down her face…:::
Amber, I need you to email me at maryeaudetATgmailDOTcom with your address and all.
Seriously..I grew up not too far from Philadelphia and Hershey was one of my favorite places to go when I was a child. You could smell the chocolate in the air…Amazing.
Well, a couple of years ago my daughter and son in law moved to Lebanon Pa. which is not too far away..and when I visited guess where they took me?
It was still the same magic and excitement it always was! This time I was sharing it with my grandkids..
Did you know that Milton S. Hershey was a philanthropist, giving away millions of dollars to establish a local orphanage and school?
Did you know that Hershey was one of the first “planned communities”? Where other factories might have established tenement like housing for their employees, Hershey created not only homes but an amusement park, theater, library and other non-essential programs to enrich his employees lives? The amusement park is still there, and world famous, but if you go, remember that it was created for no other reason than to build morale and enrich the lives of Hershey employees and their families in the early 1900s.
Pretty cool?
Now, there are three more gift baskets to give away. The rules will remain the same. Every monday I will post the gift post for that week..and every friday I will draw the winner and announce it by Saturday morning. So be sure to check back on Monday for THREE new chances to win!!

Congrats to Amber!
Congratulations Amber!
Congratulations go out to Amber…you lucky gal!!
congrats!!!!!!
I’ve been saying that people need to think like Hershey, who basically ignored the purse-tightening everyone else was doing and built his luxury hotel (and other things) during the Great Depression, because he said the best thing he could think to do was to negate the Depression was to spend money and create more jobs. (or something like that). Congrats, Amber!
and I have a non-Hershey’s question, too–in your visits to Hershey, have you ever gone to Wilbur’s chocolates?
No Jena, I can’t say that I have…
Congratulations to Amber! Lucky girl with all that luscious chocolate.
OH my gosh, you just totally made my day. I am so excited. Thank you SO much. I will email you shortly.
Thats interesting, I come from very close to the cadbury factory in Birmingham, England and the cadbury family built a whole beautiful village, bourneville, and some really nice schools in the area. No pubs though, they are quakers
