Baking Delights

Baking Delights Makes Food Gawker!

I am so excited.  Yeah. Really..

I have been submitting images to Foodgawker and TasteSpotting for awhile.  I love those sites because there is always something cool on there and it makes it easy to find posts for Saturday Blog Surfing.  None of my images was ever quite good enough: over exposed, blurry, blah….

And I had pretty much decided to stop sumbmitting because I don’t take rejection well.

So I submitted my last one last night..and decided to submit three that I thought were my best over the past week or so.

  • Eclairs
  • Cauliflower soup
  • Sopapillas

The first two were turned down and the sopapillas were pending when I went to bed.

I woke up this morning to find that I. Was. In!

The sopapillas made it!

If you hadn’t seen that recipe, or want to make them here it is:

Authentic Sopapillas

Marc and I have another afternoon at the VA today…so send some prayers and good wishes our way.  We have been referred to another doctor because his main doctor has no more ideas. :(

i used to feel the same way but rather than let it deter me, it just made me work harder on my picture taking. it’s a learning experience. and with foodgawker, they tell you why the pic was denied, which is great. tastespotting is a bit spotty sometimes. anyway, for every picture that i post, i’ve usually taken about 10 at different angles, zoom, lighting etc. it’s time consuming, usually time i don’t have but still! and now i’ve gotten to a point where when i’m cooking and plating, i have it in my head how i would photograph it so the process is slightly faster and smoother. also, i do my editting at http://www.picnik.com which allows for even more creativity. i don’t have a fancy camera but i read the manual and i played with it. i know it’s strengths and weakness, and just take it from there. i think your content and pictures are fabulous. the sopapillas look divine. :)
