Blog Exchange!

Well, Stephanie is dispensing more happiness this year, with another blog exchange.  I am embarrassed to say that my stuff is late in being sent out, but I blame the flood and other odd happenings the last couple of weeks.

However I got my boxes.  Yep boxes,  because I did one for here, and one for kettle and cup!   The tiny problem I have is that, ahem….I don;t know which box is for which blog..so IF you are one of the dear people who sent me a box and it is on the wrong blog..it is o.k..because it is the right person!

Becke at Columbus Foodie sent me the most absolutely amazing box!

Understand that last week was one challenge after another.  We have a tenant that has not paid rent in 2 months and we have been trying to talk to her rather than evict her but  she refuses to pay her rent…We are not, as you know, independently wealthy, so the house payment on that house is late..Marc and I spent the morning of the flood at the pain clinic and the evening after at the ER at the VA.  I was literally having one of those days where you can’t stop crying..and I was praying…and I told God I just was so far beyond my limit I could not deal with one more thing..within an hour this package was being ripped open by me, with help from my kids…and the treasure that I found inside…

blog exchange

Seriously there was a ton of chocolate, chocolate covered coffee beans, FIVE kinds of cinnamon, and so many little (and big) delicacies that I knew that not only was Becke’s box a gift from her, but she had, maybe unknowingly, been the vehicle for the Lord to give me a very large hug just when I needed it.

I was amazed that she, like me, is very into supporting local foods and farmers..and she sent me some wonderful things that were produced locally.

truffles

She sent me these truffles that are made by a friend of hers, who, incidentally has the same name as a friend (and old Pastor) of OURS.  Daniel Cooper  makes these beautiful (and delicious) things by hand at Pure Imagination

She sent me some Buckeyes, not knowing that they were a personal favorite of mine, and ..oh, vanilla beans….

There is so much to list…I can only say how fabulous it was,. and how overwhelmed I was with it.  Thanks Becke!

How fabulous, wonderful treats and I’m glad she was able to cheer you up at such a stressful time!

What a lovely box of goodies! I participated in a similar event a few months ago (not foodie related, though) and it was fun, though not as satisfying as I had hoped–the gal that sent me a package was from my former home of Atlanta, and the girl that I sent a package to stopped blogging, and didn’t even tell me she’d received it! Ugh, so you can imagine how that sort of turned me off a little bit. But I love the idea of a foodie exchange–so yummy to get treats in the mail!

I’m so glad that it got there in one piece (and hopefully still fresh!). I was so worried about you guys last week when I read about the flood (and saw pics of Lancaster, TX on The Weather Channel). I’m glad I was able to give you the hug you needed when things weren’t going so well. It makes the whole exchange thing worthwhile. :)

  4. Added to your lovely homemade treats the kids would have been very happy this Easter with all this luxurious chocolate…lucky guys and gals:D It sounds like it was a pick up that you needed with all that life has thrown your way lately:D

Mrs W You should give it another go…
Becke- again, thank you so much! The pics you saw had our big, blue house on it….they were all up and down our street and filming just outside!
