Blog Surfing Saturday:Just Chill

 nick home from camp

It is much too hot to cook here.  Even at 7 this morning it was 85 muggy degrees. Ew.

The kids got back from camp yesterday.  Two of them were sunburned almost past recognition.  All four of the ones that went were exhausted and it has been a quiet morning with them sleeping in.  The older boys did head out to go rock climbing…so they will be too exhausted for eating this evening (maybe) and I am thinking banana splits for dinner.

We do that once in awhile. We eat well most of the time so having a dinner that consists entirely of the biggest banana split in the world is just fun.

Trying to think COOL means ice cream to me.  So today we…Just Chill.

The very talented Holler, of Tinned Tomatoes has created a Mango Rose Wine Sorbet with her brand new mango splitter!

Mike’s Table is hosting a We All Scream For Frozen desserts round up and I missed it.  But check out this Chocolate Kahlua Brownie Chunk Ice Cream.  I would definitely scream for that.

Check out this great idea! Put small amounts of frozen dessert creations in tiny mason jars and store in the freezer.  How  “cool” is that? Thanks to Lloyd and Lauren for the great idea.

This is not chilled per se but I could not NOT include this cake! An Adorable, Suessian Horton Hears a Who Cake from Sinfully Sweet Confections

This is the stuff.  Drunken Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream from Susan at Sticky Gooey Creamy Chewy.   I love the image and I think I will force Marc to eat the rest of the chocolate ice cream in my freezer so I can make this.

Garret at The Flavor of Vanilla took on the flavor of blueberry this week with a beautiful Blueberry Ice Cream .  The color was amazing.

Meeta, at What’s for Lunch, Honey? always has great images.  She is so very talented!  But that’s not all..the food at her blog is always, and I mean always amazing.  Strawberry Pistachio Parfait looks just as good as it sounds!

Mmm…o.k..so I admit it.  I am the only person in the entire known universe that has not tried (and fallen in love with) Nutella. Dharm loves it, Valli loves it, Jenn loves it, ALL the cool kids love it.  Dang peer pressure anyway!  Check out this Nutella Peanut Butter Swirl Ice Cream on Once Upon a Cookie and you will probably love it, too.

Karina’s Kitchen has an awesome looking Vegan Banana Ice Scream.  Yum!

I saw this image on Taste Spotting and had to check it out.  Red Beauty and Plum Muscat Gelato. Oh. My. Goodness.

Have a great weekend!
