This is hysterical. I know I get MY identity from my baking skills.

  1. That IS hysterical! It also seems to be from my Mom’s era, but she certainly had no interest in white OR green thumbs – she was a city slicker and proud of it.

I grew up watching that type of thing and was sure that if my dishes werent shiny, my bread light, and my coffee delicious my husband would leave me for someone who could make a chocolate cake.

  3. Claire says:

Well, aren’t women supposed to be in the kitchen?! ;-) That was hillarious. I love the rubbing of her fingers right before she held up her “white thumb.” That’s just what we all need…a flour we are so confident in, we don’t even sift any more!

  4. Marye says:

I am now paranoid though, if I use whole wheat flour won’t I have a brown thumb? And is having a white thumb politically correct? So much to think about…

  5. What a hoot! That girl had to learn how to do a lot of things, but she was BORN knowing how to make a killer cake!

  6. Marye says:

Yeah…it must have been in the genes.
