Donna Reed Divas, A Contest For Retro- Housewife Wannabes

I told ya something cool was up. Welcome to the Donna Reed Diva’s Contest.
Be honest, you love those old reruns of Donna Reed, Mrs. Cleaver, and the rest. If the truth be known you would stick your feet in some red pumps, tie on a string of pearls and attach an apron to your waist and swish around the kitchen, deftly preparing chocolate layer cakes and large glasses of cold milk.
Yeah you would. Except that your husband would think you had lost your mind. Or, well I don’t think Dharm would, or any of the guys who hang out here.
Anyway.
Starting TODAY, October 13, 2007 Baking Delights is hosting a fantabulous apron contest for my fantabulous readers. It will run for TWO weeks, ending at midnight CST October 29, 2007. (It’s a Monday because I don’t normally post on Sundays)
Intrigued, aren’t you?
This is the prize, and what a cool prize it is. A reversible Christmas apron by Lee Ann of Annie’s Attic . How cool is this?

Can ya picture yourself stirring up those delectable holiday treats, with the recipes you found here of course, wearing this? Mmmhmm.
Contest Rules
Yeah, you knew there would be.
1. For every comment left (starting today, with a valid email) on Baking Delights you get one entry.
2. For every comment left, linking to a blog post you did telling about the contest and linking to it (you can snag the picture, cause it IS cool) you get one entry.
3. For every comment left linking to your blog post that includes a picture of a cookie, cake, bread or pie recipe that you have made from this site you get two entries.
** For the sake of clarity..You can get 2 entries for making a recipe PLUS 2 entries for posting about the contest (if you send me the link in both cases) PLUS an entry EVERY time you leave a relevant comment.
4. At noon cst on Tuesday, October 30, All of the entries will be put in a large antique wooden kneading bowl and Kyrie will draw ONE name. Kyrie is 4 and she can;t read yet so this is a very fair contest.

So, it is as easy to enter as you like, you can pick your own difficulty level. Once the winner is named they have 2 days to contact me, or another winner will be announced. I want to have the apron in your hands by Thanksgiving so you can amaze your friends with your really cool retro-Donna -Reed-Diva ‘tude.
I TOLD you it was going ot be fun!

Such a great contest & a lovely prize! Thank you so much for hosting!
That apron is GORGEOUS!! I want it. Yes, I am one of those women who still wears an apron. I do it because I like my clothes and I want to protect them while I cook. Okay, and I just enjoy wearing the thing.
As for the heels…I just might do that. I think my husband might like it.
This is not an entry. I don’t do aprons… I am messy. So there. But I had to say that this child pictured is adorable. And I love the part about her not being able to read so it’s fair; how funny.
Yeah..we like her. So far anyway.
Cute apron. I hate cleaning, but I love wearing aprons! In fact, for Mother’s day I asked for an apron!
Marye, great contest. I have to sheepishly admit that I do totter around my kitchen in high heels (no pearls – but often plenty of much cheaper jewellery). My neighbours keep teasing me about writing a book called how to cook in high heels. Love the aprons, and the incentive. What a great excuse (if you need one) to try out your baking delights.
Oh what a fun contest with a fabulous prize. I would love to win the apron. Gonna add this to my Sunday Edition of Contests Galore on my blog.
oh, Inge, I wear heels too, all the time…I try to get platform type shoes to go with my jeans..but my husband is 6′6″ and I am 5′4″ so I need the extra heighth
I have too many aprons already, but I wanted to say that Kyrie is SO CUTE.
LOL! She is…she is the baby of the family…she has 7 siblings that dote on her.
Heels make the food more elegant!
so cute, count me in.
I want it!

This is just the most ADORABLE apron ever! I can totally see myself wearing it for all that Christmas cooking.
I blogged about your contest on my contest page at this link: http://jonathanandandrea.blogspot.com/2007/09/countless-contests.html
This contest is for me! I want that apron!
You should have seen me making brunch today — In a long skirt, jewelry and high navy heels with my long apron over it all– I was so June Cleaver!
please enter me thanks
Whoops forgot to mention that I did post about it. I guess that counts as two entries — I’m working on it!

Very cute apron. I would love to have it.
Cute apron ~ but I don’t do heels. I would love to be entered in your contest ~ thanks!
Marye, please enter me – I need football team treats so I’ll definitely use one of your very own recipes and increase my chances.
What a cute apron! I’d love to put that to good use. No heels though, sorry–my feet can’t take them.
What a lovely apron! Was sent here via Barbara at Bless Us O Lord. I’ll link to this momentarily:~)

I love those aprons! Please enter me in the drawing. I agree that Kyrie is adorable.
Ive always wanted an apron like that… LOL SOoo adorable
What a fun apron. I have just started getting into aprons. They are super fun. Now my niece (3 yrs) wants to wear aprons too.
I live for the time of year when my house is transformed into a Santa wonderland- I pack up all of the stuff I normally have out and bring out the Noel magic- I need that apron!
I AM the ultimate retro-housewife wannabe. The keyword there, of course, is “wannabe”. I’ll never be able to pull it off. I don’t have the hairstyle for it. (Sorry, but I didn’t inherit that Dippity-Do and Aqua Net users gene from my mother. Pity, I know.)
But, I’m all about trying. I can’t step into my kitchen without putting an apron on, but frankly, I get a little sick of my boring, black apron. So, I’m going to amend my contest post to include this, and hope I win. Cause looking the part is almost as good as being it.
