Food Network….The Magazine

I don’t know if you have seen it but Food Network has come out with a magazine that has, as far as I am concerned, a lot of potential.
I have been a Bon Appetit fan for over 20 years, starting my first subscription in 1980 or 81. I never really liked Gourmet, Cooking Light or any of the others,Bon Appetit was my go to cooking magazine always.
Well, other than the brief romance that I had with Vegetarian Times. It was, sadly, doomed to failure when they were increasingly aligned with PETA and PETA was increasingly radical.
Anyway, the Food Network magazine is taunting me wickedly from my desk. I bought it on a whim yesterday but have not had time to read it. I am not feeling great today and the idea of taking ot my bed with pillows, tea, a foot massage from Matthew (the official Mom foot massage person) and this magazine is wonderfully appealing.
Anyway…I am planning chocolate lava cakes for dessert tonight, so that should show up here a little later…and I will let you know what I think of the magazine then.
Has anyone else seen it? What do you think?

I saw an offer online for a free magazine, so I’ll let you know when I get it
I read through it awhile ago..I saw several recipes I wanted to try..so basically…Thumbs up from me.
I subscribed to it Marye….was shocked when I got my first issue 2 weeks later! I had picked one up at the store thinking it would take forever for the subscription to start so was shocked-but it’s all good…I gave the extra copy to my daughter and am starting a subscription for her….we both really like it!

I saw an ad for it and thought I might check it out. I subscribe to Rachael Ray Everyday, and Paula Deans mag. I wonder how this compares?
I don’t get those Linette, so I don;t know..It has alot of recipes from different food network stars..and it is very chatty and nicely laid out.
I haven’t seen this magazine up here in Canada Marye….yet:D

I picked it up at the grocery store; there are a lot of recipes, some good articles, beautiful photos – I may subscribe.
Deb…I thought that it was, in some ways, much better than bon appetit..but don’t tell them I said so..please?
I ordered a subscripton Feb 27th and paid by Discover Card and I have never received an issue.
I called and talked to a lady which she said she would send me the Mario issue and make sure I would get my regular issues.
So far no such luck.
I finally bought an issue recently at an airport. I like the magazine.
If you do not which to honor my subscription please send me my $20.00 for the 2 year subscription.
Please advise.
