Yikes! I hadnt even thought about it yet.
Ugh. Yes, yes it is. So, I’m going to check out the bourbon spiced sweet potatos, even though my kids always have to have the marshmellow topped ones. And it’s the ONE time of year I get pecan pie. I’m with your daughter on that one. Mashed potatos, homemade cranberry sauce, corn muffins, turkey gravy, green bean casserole, corn pudding. . . . LOL! It’s makin’ me hungry.
Oh, yes, I’ve been thinking but I need now to start acting and that’s proving harder ;0)
well, we’re buying a turkey this weekend to cook & freeze- a la Marye- and I’m so tickled, I finally got pie crust to work, Woot!!! and lemon meringue to work! (ok, so we’ve packed on the calories this last month… LOL) so, I’m pretty much prepared. I seriously doubt I’ll still be pg by Thanksgiving, and just having the turkey cooked saves me a ton of time and energy. (well, that an the fact that we eat at my friends house, so the cleanup is nil!!) still in search for a vanilla pudding recipie so I can make a banana cream pie….
Courtney..what happened to summer, right?
Heather-the sweet potatoes are great made ahead.
Tanna-you and me both!
Monica..I have a great vnailla pudding recipe..if only I get the chance ot do it..LOL!
As I now live in Canada, we had our Thanksgiving dinner a few weeks ago. It was the first holiday meal I’ve prepared on my own; usually, I get to go to Mom’s Thanksgiving feasts. What I missed this year were the Parker House rolls that were a Turkey Day tradition at Mom’s; I had neither the time nor the space to make them. But I did manage to make this stuffing (http://www.recipezaar.com/146134) we made last year and loved–even those of us who aren’t fans of stuffing.
Wow Jena! That is awesome! It is hard to be on your own and then to top it with a different date all together!
Yippee!!! The turkey is in the roaster!!! I’m so happy…. I just had to give you a big {{{{{HUG}}}}}} for introducing me how to cook that puppy early… it’s made my Thanksgiving so much easier… and with the new baby this year, it’s a remarkable gift to me. Thank you Marye….
You are welcome Monica….uhhh would you toss one in there for me? I think we will be eating chinese this year…Fa ra ra ra ra rah rah rah rah….

It’s my husband’s favorite.
Thanks for the wonderful links! Our special ingredient this year will be the presence of my father-in-law, who hasn’t been able to travel in years, so we’re very excited to have him!
Sure, but that means you’ll have to take the time to come get it!!!
Sarah..I love a good banana cream pie…

Monica…uh..yeah. well…that does sort of make it more challenging.
