I finally got round to making the chocolate pudding this weekend and it was a huge hit with my family! Including my son who is a chef of note... so thanks Marye!

And because we don't have half and half, I made it with 1 cup of cream and the rest full cream milk and it was totally yummy. More cream would have made it too rich, I think

Ah, I see. I guess I'll have to go the whole milk route. Thanks so much for the prompt reply :D

Tim, low fat items change the texture and it isn't as velvety or creamy. ALso I don;t happen to believe that low fat foods are good for you. :)

Hello, Marye! I just recently discovered your blog a few weeks ago and have been lurking about. I was thinking about making this delicious looking pudding of yours and was just wondering if there was any specific reason not to use skim or low fat milk? Is it because it won't get thick?

I'm trying to cut back and make healthier things (and your blog is helping IMMENSELY!) So when I saw this, it seemed great! Just that much half and half or whole milk seems like an awful lot of fat (then again...it IS pudding, heh...)

Anyways, sorry about my rambling. A 17 year old up at 1:45 in the morning is something no one should have to endure. I hope to hear from you!

Wow, Ivory, generally people look at the fat in my recipes and run for the nearest bottle of fat free soy milk.
Thanks

Hi Marye,

That's exactly WHY I love your recipes! You put the healthy spin back on food!!! No problem about the delay on concentrated apple juice substitute for sugar baking recipes. I know that you must have been busy... I hope you and yours are doing well!

Blessings
