Tomorrow is the Annual Audet Gingerbread House Party…it is also Sean’s 10th birthday. So, if you have been wondering at the lack of Christmas festivity here at Baking Delights, wonder no more. It isn’t Christmas until Sean’s birthday is over!
But I do have a ton of Chrismtas cookie recipes from last year…so I thought, while I am up to my elbows in cake batter (chocolate cake that looks like a lego block) and ice cream (homemade chocolae mint oreo) that I would post links to some of the Christmas cookies we make every year…Deal?
The Best Sugar Cookies-these ar emy friend Mary Trombley’s sugar cookies. They are easy to cut out and they don;t get tough no matter how many times they are re-rolled or chubby, four year old fingers poke at them. I fyou are going ot make cut out cookies with the kids these are the ones to make.
Gingerbread Men-these are the real deal..cruchy/chewy and spicy. The tend to spread a little…freeze the cut out dough to help with this.
Thumbprint Cookies- Filled with jelly, your choice…
Mincemeat Swirls- butter cookies with a swirl of mincemeat …old fashioned yum.
Pistachio Ribbon Bars-Pretty and they have raspberry jam. There is nothing else to say about that!
Cranberry Cookies-Marc’s favorite.
Peanut Butter Kisses…you HAVE to have these!
There is also a pictorial guide to the cookie recipes here..It loads slow and I need to update it but if you are visual and like to go by what it looks like (like I am) then you might like this..Cookie Guide

The kids started baking here today as well. I guess they figure mom isn’t going to make them…LOL why didn’t I try this years ago?
We now have sugar cookies, gingerbread men ( of course… I mean with my name I can’t skip those) and brownies. No one is stealing them from the freezer yet either.
where did my real family go?
All those cookies look so delicious Mary!! I wish there were more than just Todd and I to eat them as I would bake a lot of these!
We always see such delicious cookie ideas on your blog Marye.
Thank you for this list! I am having a cookie baking party tomorrow and this is very helpful!
Whens the cookie cookbook coning out? The Gingerbread party soounds great.
Ginger..I dunno as they get older they seem to do those odd kinds of things!
Marie, I know what you mean…I can’t imagine..yet..
Thanks valli!
Hillary- have fun with that!
courtney- I got the other half of the payment and the accepted the manuscript but I don;t know when? The party is always fun
MMMMM…I want to make all of them!
I like visuals, too. It is a fantastic cookie list! Happy Birthday to your son!
That is what I have to do this weekend Rachel…HAve to get my box out to my son in Iraq on Monday!
Thanks Camille!
Wow, Marye – what a wonderful collection. I need a fix of mincemeat every Christmas and pies are too much because I’m the main mincemeat fan, so the swirl cookies sound wonderful as do the pistachio-ribbon bars!
Jen..that is the same here..since my dad died there are no fellow mincemeat eaters…
I used to make tons of it homemade…
