Need A Kitchen Makeover?

 porch

I sure do.

Showing pictures of my kitchen is almost like having promo pictures done without makeup or being naked on the internet.

My dirty little secret.  The porch is inviting…My kitchen is awful.  Strong stomach? Read on…

First of all, you can register for a kitchen makeover by Electrolux.  If you win it is something like $30,000.00 worth of kitchen.  Personally, I think I could live with that.

Anyway…

I don’t know why when you renovate the kitchen is last. Maybe it is the idea of it..or how overwhelming a job it is…or just that I could not decide what I wanted…But my kitchen was not the first thing we fixed here.

When Marc got sick the repairs came to an end…and the kitchen was still…well…see for yourself…

kitchen

Two of the burners on the stove work..and when you lean against it you get zapped.  I will never  buy another fridgidaire appliance as long as I live. Ever.

sink

Countertop is rotted away from the base…ewww…nasty. I know.  Makes you feel better about your kitchen, doesn’t it?

ceiling

Yes, that is tape falling from the ceiling.  Sigh…

So you see…I entered the contest. I hope I win. Being the generous person I am I wanted you to be able to have a chance to win, too.  :)

And now you know why you see food images but no kitchen images…LOL!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you – I am owner of a poor kitchen too, and if I had a chance to win a makeover, I’d definitely participate!

Reminds me of my kitchen when we lived in Wisconsin. At least you have a whole countertop!! ;) I cooked with about a foot of counterspace for several years. Then we decided to move, and DH had the kitchen finished in a matter of a month or so. I got to enjoy it for about 6 months till the farm sold. :)

I just need new countertops. Mine are burned and around the sink water has made it’s way into it, and it’s “popping” under the laminate.

    Hope you win!!!

    Sigi- you should enter!

Heather- these old houses are great..it just always seems the kitchen is the last thing to be fixed.

I feel your pain Marye….the plywood under the linoleum is cracked in my kitchen…and since my house was custom built for someone in a wheelchair (not me), all the counters are lowered and instead of getting custom built cabinets-the contractor just sawed off the bottom of the cabinets….ya where your feet go when you wash the dishes? So I forever stub my toe on the cabinet doors-not to mention how LOW the sink is to wash dishes in……would I love a new kitchen? Sure….but there are so many other things that need done first……

Aww..Carol! You should enter the contest!

Oh don’t feel bad marye, my kitchen had mis-matched cabinets from …I don’t even know where. The floor was a mess, the walls were this aweful 1950’s paneling that went all through the house, it was like living in a box! I hope you win!!!

  7. claire says:

OH…I hope you win, too! What a blessing that would be. Then you could enjoy cooking EVEN MORE! :-)

  8. Ginger says:

    I won’t enter so that you’ll have a chance . :)

  9. Sigi says:

Hi Marye, I’d surely enter if my kitchen weren’t in Germany ;-)

  10. I hope you win!!! I’d enter if I owned my own house, but I’m currently renting.
