Rachel’s Yogurt… Gourmet to the Max

I was shopping for food for my son Matthew yesterday. He has developed stomach pain similar to an ulcer, although the tests are not conclusive he is on a bland diet of cream of wheat, saltines, yogurt, and …uh…toast. He is 16, has the metabolism of a hummingbird and the appetite of a gorilla and I can tell you that he is not very happy about this.
However, as I was shopping in the yogurt aisle at Target (which is fast becoming one of my favorite food stores, more about that later) I saw this very unique looking yogurt.

Yep. You read that right. Plum-Honey-Lavender. I had to get it, do ya hear me? I HAD to. And then the yogurt looked so lonely I picked up the Vanilla Chai.
So of course, the first thing I did when I got home was…..taste it.

It was tangier than I expected. I think I would have preferred it a little sweeter but the flavor was great and the combination of plum and lavender is brilliant. This is going to be a go to yogurt ingredient for me. I am thinking pound cakes and bundt cakes and as the dressing for fruit salads.
On its own as a snack? Not so much. It was not sweet enough for my sweet tooth. But combined into something else it is going to be amazing. This will work great anywhere you need yogurt or sour cream in a recipe and you want a little burst of tangy fruit.
The kids loved it, by the way, and didn’t think it was too sour.
If you see it it is a definite must try.

I love Rachel’s yogurt. We use the vanilla chai on our pancakes instead of syrup…yum yum yum.
Sorry to hear your son is having stomach problems. He must be climbing the walls to eat something that isn’t white! I’ll have to look for the yogurt at the store Marye it sounds very interesting!
What a unique flavor combination!! I’ve got to check out these yogurts…I’m always up for a unique yogurt flavor combo. Thanks for sharing!
That looks delicious. My husband’s favorite right now is Pomegranate blackberry, and the fridge is filled with it.
hey marye is this the same bunny that we all know from hah?
Catherine, that is a great idea!
Bunny I think you will like it!
Elyse they are awesome if you can find them
Diana I havent tried that one yet
Deb Nope!
Love Rachel’s yogurts, but they don’t sell them at my co-op. I like the different varieties. Glad your son got some food in him.
Thanks Crystal.
plum-honey-lavender? Could something be more perfect for me? ANd tangy, not overly sweet!
I don’t have a target near me, but of all the bigger stores I have shopped at, I like them the best. Better quality, and they have more loose tea! “Say NO MORE!”
Jo! It is great to see you again!
