Happy Weekend!
It is chillier and chillier in the mornings. The leaves are turning color and the days are shorter. It is an awesome time of year - probably my favorite time for food. The flavors of autumn are spicy and robust, warm and comforting. It is a great time to try new combinations and new spices and ingredients. Try switching Chinese Five Spice powder for the cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, or apple pie spice in your favorite recipe. I had an exhausting day of shopping yesterday and ended up getting home late, stressed and ready to tell everyone that if grazing was good enough for the horses it was good enough for them. I hate being rushed, and i hate running late, and I really wanted to make a good meal since we had been having alot of Desperation Casserole lately.

A Taste of Autumn

Before I give you my thoughts on this incredible Maple Apple Streusel Muffin, let me say that I have no clue what is up with my lighting for my photographs. Combination of cheap, old camera and the new type of light bulbs (green but yellow if you know what I mean)..or maybe it is just my monitor.
I think I have mentioned that Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the chilly walks down leaf strewn lanes, the smell of apples and leaves burning, and the golden hues that announce that the season is changing.
