I can&#8217;t believe it is July. I feel like I say that every month&#8230;They seem to go so fast.
Today is Chef Kyrie&#8217;s fifth birthday&#8230;Wait until you see what I picked up for her. It is adorable, and I am going to blog it later, maybe not today but later in the week.
I checked out the Daring Bakers Challenge for this month and all I can say is&#8230;WOW.  The reveal is Wednesday the 30th of July so mark your calenders and be sure to check in.  Yes it is that good!

<p>I can&#8217;t believe it is July. I feel like I say that every month&#8230;They seem to go so fast.</p>
<p>Today is Chef Kyrie&#8217;s fifth birthday&#8230;Wait until you see what I picked up for her. It is adorable, and I am going to blog it later, maybe not today but later in the week.</p>
<p>I checked out the Daring Bakers Challenge for this month and all I can say is&#8230;WOW.  The reveal is Wednesday the 30th of July so mark your calenders and be sure to check in.  Yes it is <strong>that</strong> good! <span id="more-1382"></span></p>
<p>It is interesting to look at the statistics and see what the top posts for each month were.  I decided to do a top five list for June.  Actually it is the top six list because since I posted the <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2007/08/27/the-50-best-cookie-recipes-on-the-internet/">50 Best Cookie Recipes </a>that has been the top  post every single month. The day I post something that knocks THAT out I will be amazed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/04/04/wedding-cakes-5-all-about-frosting/wedding-cake-2/" rel="attachment wp-att-1130" title="wedding cake"><img src="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/files/2008/04/weddingcake031007__5_.jpg" alt="wedding cake" /></a></p>
<p>Anyway, other than that the five top posts (in order) are:</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/04/01/how-to-make-your-own-wedding-cake-part-one/"> How to Make Your Own Wedding Cake</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2007/08/10/old-fashioned-molasses-crinkles/">Old Fashioned Molasses Crinkles</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2007/06/15/double-chocolate-toffee-cookies/">Double Chocolate Toffee Cookies</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/06/12/easy-perfect-homemade-hamburger-or-hot-dog-buns/">Homemade HotDog or Hamburger Buns</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/05/07/pineapple-upside-down-cake-a-classic-recipe/">Pineapple Upside Down Cake</a></li>
</ol>
<p>I could have guessed the wedding cake&#8230; <img src='http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/02/29/daring-bakers-february-challenge-baguettes/baguette-cut/" rel="attachment wp-att-997" title="baguette cut"><img src="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/files/2008/02/bread.JPG" alt="baguette cut" /></a></p>
<p>The poll for June was <em>What is your favorite bread</em>?  I thought the winner was going to be <a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/02/29/daring-bakers-february-challenge-baguettes/">French Baguette</a> but Whole Wheat took the lead by one vote at the last minute. I actually have two recipes up for whole wheat bread:</p>
<ol>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/03/26/whole-wheat-molasses-bread/">Whole Wheat Molasses Bread<br />
</a></li>
<li><a href="http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/2008/04/22/old-fashioned-whole-wheat-oatmeal-bread/">Whole Wheat Oatmeal Bread</a></li>
</ol>
<p>and then I have a recipe for everyday whole wheat bread that I will be posting in the next few days. I will be putting a new poll up for July a little later.  The poll for this month is the battle of the mixers.  Bosch, Kitchenaide, or write in your own favorite.</p>
<p>You see,  Kitchen aide bites when it comes to bread making. Maybe if you make the occasional loaf..but if you make whole wheat bread in six loaf batches a couple of times a week like I do your beloved KA is going to die a horrible, and painful death. I promise.   For bread there is nothing like a Bosch.  BUT KA is the bomb at mixing batters and things&#8230;so&#8230;therein lies  my dilemma. Should I just splurge and have both?</p>
<p>July is the big birthday month here. I don&#8217;t know what God was thinking but 3 out of 8 kids are July babies.  Kyrie (5) on the 1st, Nick (8) on the 3rd, and Matt (16) on the 11th. I am making a cake for Kyrie today, haven&#8217;t decided what yet.  Brilliant.  I have waited until the last minute again!</p>
<p>So.  Welcome to July. <img src='http://www.blisstree.com/bakingdelights/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
