I hate being unprepared.

So, today is the last day of the road to Chocolate Nirvana. I have a son who loves rocky road ice cream. When I make ice cream he is in the pantry pulling out marshmallows, walnuts, chocolate chips, and anything else he thinks he can get away with trying to get me to throw in there. When I heard that we were going ot have a picnic after church last Sunday I was trying to decide what type of chocolate to supply our pastor with ( he loves chocolate almost as much as I do) and I thought about these rocky road brownies. we had a Indian type dinner tonight. It was hot and friends came over nad we did vegetarian kabobs, fried bread, salad, and these cookies. You can read about the main portion of the dinner at apronstrings and simmering things however i am posting the cookies here. My camera is messed up still but Marc has promised to work on the problem so hopefully pictures will be up soon.

This is my very favorite chocolate from  scratch cake.  It is moist and chocolatey. Be prepared for the batter to look very runny compared to other cake batters you might be used to. It’s o.k..somehow it works out great in the end. The cake is very dark..you could try using the Hersheys Special Dark cocoa instead of regular for an even richer chocolate cake.

Well, that is what we call them here. I have been working on the recipe for dark chocolate chipotle brownies  for a couple of months, ever since I fell in love with the smokey, complex flavor of chipotle and realized that it just is incredibly versatile.
