I got an email from April Shunn Williams of Paramount Farms yesterday. In fact it was a very nice, complimentary email…my favorite kind! Anyway she wondered if I would pass on to my readers some important information about the pistachio recall. Apparently not all pistachios are being recalled and there are a couple of links you might want to bookmark.
The FDA and the Pistachio Growers of California have gotten together and created a website, Pistachio Recall, which has tons of information and specifics to this particular recall. It is being watched and updated regularly.

Here It is…Daring Bakers Challenge..and WHAT a Challenge!

This one was a challenge!
First, I have to say how much I appreciate being part of the Daring Bakers. I definitely get out of my comfort zone a lot and bake things I would not normally bake. The ingredients can sometimes be pricey (this challenge cost me over $20.00) but I can usually plan ahead to pull a few dollars here and there from other places.
Do I stress? Yes!

Firts let me just say, that personally I am vehemently opposed to any form of low fat or fake food item (such as sugar substitute). I really believe that these things add to the problem of overweight and ill health in the United States. To me, eating fresh, ORGANIC foods the way that they were meant to be eaten, without chemical processing or hormones, and eating them in moderation is the key to being healthy and maintaining a healthy weight.

Christmas Cookie Countdown -Week 4

Well, it is almost October. Most people are just now starting to think about the giant candy holiday coming up and it won’t occur to them that Christmas and Thanksgiving are just around the corner until Nov 5th or 6th. By then they will have to scramble to get done and we will be finishing up!
