This has Absolutely Nothing to do with Eating

As I have mentioned in the past we have somewhat of a homestead. And we have, not only chickens, but goats that we milk. Now, you think goats milk is nasty, I don’t know, but fresh and handled right it is the best stuff in the world, and it is like cooking with heavy cream.
As I was relating my afternoon adventures in eating out at Macaroni Grill on Apron Strings, my daughter called to me to come help her deliver two bucklings. This little guy fits in my hands. No names yet. You can follow the link to read the whole sordid tale. I need some coffee.

he’s ADORABLE! i can’t seem to stop looking at your picture and saying “awww.”
Ok, for an animal the little goats are pretty cute – no way will I drink the milk though. I’m not a baby goat. I don’t drink cow milk either. Yuck.
a.grace- I know..they are cuter this morning because they are running and hopping!
Jennifer- Do you not use it for cooking either? I dislike soy because of the phyto-estrogens in it.
I use soy for cooking too – unless there is a specific bread recipe that calls for a bit of real milk – then I use powdered. I don’t think humans should drink cows milk. At least they should drink organic. Also, I think all that fuss about soy “issues” is not realistic unless you’re eating/drinking gallons of soy. Many of the studies I’ve read follow huge soy eaters – but like any food, soy is best in moderation. We should eat plenty of variety.
We do eat alot of dairy…Let’s face it, 5 of my 8 kids are boys..we aeat alot of everything. One, JUST one of my sons eats 14 pancakes, whole grain pancakes mind you, per day for breakfast plus three eggs
Remember Jethro on the Beverly Hillbillies?
O My Gosh he’s so cute! My husband and kiddos are wanting the fainting goats – I say we don’t have enough room with raising chickens and all.
They sure are adorable though.
I LOVE Goat’s milk, was raised on it, and really miss that my parents don’t have them on the farm anymore to milk! That and goats can just have so much personality and are so cute!
Yay for Goat’s milk!
Gayla- these are only the size of a golden retriever..I know that you could fit…oh…say..two little bucklings on your property…
Suzy-it is hard to get used to baking with cows milk after the richness of goats milk, for sure!
