I am going to do my Saturday surfing post in a bit but I wanted to post this first.
Several of you have asked about Hot Celebrity News and the fact that they have linked to your blogs via my blog etc.
Since before Christmas I have been getting my content stolen by several websites. Most of them honor the cease and desist order that is sent out. This one has not. It changes names, web address, or whatever and continues to steal my content literally within minutes of my content being posted. I have timed it at 7 minutes.
There is not really anything I can do, thus the (c)Marye Audet and other things I write in my post to hopefully allow people to eventually find Baking delights. I am sure that many people don’t realize that sites like these literally steal money from bloggers’ pockets without a second thought. What the site wants with my recipes when it obviously posts large amounts of male bovine fecal matter is beyond me.
I cannot stop them from doing what they are doing. However, I CAN give you the option of asking me to not link to your site. Once I have made the link it is too late, they will have it…but I can refrain form linking in the future.
And I ask anyone reading from THAT site to click on the Baking Delights link and read from the real site in the future.
There is not really any reason for worry of them linking to you..you may actually pick up a few readers. But if you prefer I not link to you again, please let me know and I will try to honor your wishes.

I’d be honored if you continued to link from my site anything you see worthy. You have a challenge ahead of you. I can only look at the brite side of this in that your a value to the blogging world and thats why they steal. Keep up the good work! Thanks for the explanation.

I have the same problem… nearly every single post I put on my baking blog is snatched up almost immediately. I also have the © all over the place but it doesn’t seem to make a difference for me either. Grrr. If you figure out a way to make it stop, please let me know!

Oh, Marye, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I am so sick of those robot stealers. It’s awful.
I have the same problem, but noticed when I do the (read more) they normally post it just like that and their readers must click the link (which brings them to the rest of my article on my site) to read anything else. Hope that helps.
Carrie..My best suggestion is just to put lots of links to your pages so that it brings you extra traffic!
Jen- I know…seems some people just know how to work the system.
Eliza- I do that too with most posts but they get the whole thing.
Scrapping has become big biz for some online crooks. I try to alert their advertisers too. Some may – and may not care, but at least I’m doing my part to get even
I do know DMCA’s have been sent several times. I have no idea what’s going on with some of these crooks other then out of country sites are a bit more challenging.
Hang in there. I hope the more people are around the net, the more they are able to recognize crooked sites and blogs
I know Gayla..you guys have been awesome! It doesn’t frustrate me anymore…I figure that I may even pick up a reader or two!
Lame old scrapers. Have you contacted Google? Sometimes they’ll shut down people for good – although, if they change their names and info, I guess that won’t help either.
BTW I think you should always link to me; especially when you do things like 50 best cookie lists and apron contests

Your best option would be going directly to their registrar. They will pull any domain that is violating their TOS, and what they are doing is a violation of most registrars. I’ve been dealing with the same thing and I give them a warning to pull my post, then contact their registrar, they pull the domain within a week. It feels like a bit of satisfaction every time I see one of these websites offline.
