Talk about your dog days….wow. It is hot and muggy. Even at night it is in the 90’s. Everything is sticky and soggy and I am ready for cooler weather. I know that when it is freezing in here I will complain about that.

Please promise to love me anyway. Read more

Blog Surfing Saturday…Memorial Day and More

 memorial day

So, how has your week been?  Summer in Texas seems to have remembered what summer is supposed to be and the cool weather we had been having has morphed into a taste of hell.  Hot, humid and blah.  It is hard on us because we do not use air conditioning.

That is not as bad as you may think, at least not most of the time. Our house is old, with the 11 foot ceilings and tall windows cross ventilated. We have ceiling fans and we notice that our bodies do adjust.  Eventually. But when the weather switches from chilly to tropic then it takes the old bod a few days to catch up. Read more

New Pages on Baking Delights

 Check It Out

eye

I know that I don’t often look at the side bar of a blog to see what fascinating bits of information might, MIGHT, be found there. I am much more prone to delve into the blog post and read.

I don’t ask for directions when I am lost either.

Be that as it may, I would like to direct your attention to the side bar because in the past week I have added several permanent pages.

I just thought if you needed how-to information it would be easier to check the sidebar than sift through the entire blog. I figured it would save you time, and frustration. I figured you would then nominate me for every blog award out there have more time to devote to cooking and baking.

I am so thoughtful that way.

SO…here is a list of the newest pages and a little about each. Read more

Check It Out!

November 30, 2007 by Marye Audet

I just want to take a minute to direct your attention to the right hand column of the website and give you a 30 second tour. On that column are alot of features that you may have misses because you were so dazzled by the coolness of my posts but really there are some cool things there.

1. Blog roll: I need to update this but there are some awesome blogs that I read regularly. Check some of them out! You will find it toward the bottom.

Bloggers and Bakers- All the blogs

Recipe Sources- Cool places to find recipes besides here

Supplies-Where to go to get what you are looking for

2. Pages: There are 3 pages so far. One is about Baking Delights: What it is, what I want it to be..you know, stuff. One is a really COOL (mostly) pictorial index of the cookie recipes here. That way you can click on that and not only see the names of the recipes but what they look like. I, for one, am very visual and I will be much more likely to choose a recipe by the picture than the name. yeah. My psychiatrist is working on that. ;) The other, one I did this morning, is a short (and hopefully easily understood) tutorial on how to print recipes from the site without getting all the ads and side bar stuff.

I will be adding more pages there as I think of them, so if there is some kind of tutorial or whatever that you would like to see be permanently in place then please leave a comment and let me know.

3: My Bio: Click on the link and get taken to a page about me personally…and an email link ..yep..you can contact me if you need to. This proves I am a real person.

4. Recent Comments : Check in and see what people are saying…Really, usually it is nice!

5. Categories: Need a bread recipe? One for pie? Just not sure what you want to make? Click on the category on the sidebar and get whisked away to a clickable list where you can see all the posts on that subject.

6. Archives: If you happen to remember that I wrote a recipe for tomato swirl bread sometime in July (or was it August) you can check the archives.

7. Links to Other Home & Dining Channel Blogs- links to other fabulous blogs on the Home and Dining Channel. You can learn, or read, or find out about so many things! Fiber arts, scrapbooking, parenting, and creative pursuits..Living green, cool architecture, being organized, saving money…It is all here.

So..there you are. And these instructions won’t even self destruct.
