valli- you are very welcome…
megan- i think you are right…i want to make a smart alecky comment about what my old, run down, in need of restoration house says about me but..i won’t.
ginger- really I don’t have to say that-anymore. Kyrie is now 4 1/2 and very good about staying out of stuff..but two years ago…YIKES.
Tiffany- this house has been abandoned and was overrun with raccoons and mice and… it was awful. sometimes when i get frustrated at how much is not done i look back on the pictures from when we first moved in!
Linette- apparently the villages under the tree are a French tradition? My husband is French Canadian and his mom always did it that way…Up on the highest point, which you can’t see very well, is a chalkware creche from the 1940s. I like how it looks alot….
Noreen – we had a cat like that..she was 15 when we had to put her down a few years ago..she used to climb up in the middle of the village and sleep. :/ I need to go see that doll!

Hi Marye
Love your Christmas village!
We have had to change the way we display ours, because we adopted my late mother in law’s Siamese cat. Ms Kitty has taken up residence on top of the piano, and is vigorous in protecting her space. Anything that gets placed on the piano ends up on the floor. Anything that lands on the floor gets eaten by the dogs.
So, village is not on the piano, and is now in the hutch! LOL!

I love how you’ve displayed your Christmas village. My grandmother gave me several houses and shops from her village this year, and I’ve been at a loss how to best display them. I may “borrow” your idea:)

Beautiful! I love how you raise the tree…might borrow that idea when I no longer have pesky toddlers!!! I love older houses too…we tried to buy a 1910 farmhouse, but it needed so much work it wasn’t habitable. So we bought our current house…built in the 50s, so still has that older charm

Beautiful! I love Christmas decorations.

With the trees in the rooms you get a better idea of just how big these rooms really are!

I love how you mention the snow men are unbreakable. So, how many times a day do you hear yourself saying: “hey, ______, go back up (or down) the stairs and set the snowmen upright?” or something similar?
