Baking Delights

Where I BLOG

office

Well, you wanted to know..You always wondered, right? Here it is. My office.

We live in a 1910 victorian, Queen Anne Freestyle which was sort of a conglomeration between foursquare, Queen Anne, and Colonial revival. The house was moved and they changed the roofline so it now has dormers and looks like an Arts and Crafts on steroids. It desperately needs restoration…We have done alot but there is alot more to be done.

The desk and shelving were built in when the home served as a Home for Girls from 1970-1990-something. I am gong to change all that at some point. Behind me is a doorway, a set of french doors leading to what we use as the den, it is a sunroom. That also means that the kids (small and large) walk in and out all day long as I am working.

What you can’t see is the cool Art’s and Crafts border I have up at the ceiling level. The mason jar you see on the right is my constant companion..I drink water by the gallon and it is always full of ice and water. I am an ice junkie and I eat 10 lbs of ice a day in the summer. I am only up to 5 lbs now.

I would love to have a feminine sweet office to show you but alas, this is it.

I am doing a tour of my house on Kettle and Cup this week so if you want to see some of the other rooms check it out:

    You have a lovely home.

Your blogging area seems perfect. If I took a picture of mine, people would fall off their chair in laughter. I share my blogging area with my beading area and my room looks like a bead warehouse.

Courtney..thank you.the restored areas are beautiful. Unfortunately the other areas…well…
Giz- Well notice I did not take a picture of the WHOlE room….

[snorts] It can’t be worse than mine. Sad, considering I also do a cleaning site.

Wow, now that is a lot of red girl. But the house looks awesome, from this view. Nice long desk too. A little cluttered but… I’m not one to talk, mine is way makeshift.

  8. Marye says:

Julie..I am a recovering clean freak.
Jennifer..it really isn’t as red as it looks..it is a rusty red.Cluttered? Me?

  9. Wow, the stories your house could tell….

You have a lovely home…a Queen Anne Victorian must be very large. I will visit again…nice blog.

  12. Marye says:

Thanks Pat, it is very big..but it doesn’t looks so much like a Queen Anne anymore..:(

What a lovely area to work in and no window. Lol. Did you have a clean up before you took that photo? I was too lazy and just cut out the junk. Lovely red wall, too. l0(
