Breastfeeding Promotional Message: Poll Results

When I counsel a breastfeeding mother, I do not break into a cheer — “Breast is best!” — or launch into a lecture — “Breast milk is the norm; formula is subpar.” My goal is to support the mother. However, there are appropriate times and places to send a breastfeeding advocacy message (government health campaigns, WIC posters, nurse-ins, etc.). The question is, what should that message be? Seventy-five readers voiced their opinion in the poll, with the winner “Breast is best” chosen nearly 2-to-1 over “Breast milk is the norm.”

I try to not promote to heavily on the reasons to breastfeed. I ask that they google “reasons to breastfeed” and they will find a wealth of information.
i create my own message when promoting breastfeeeding: “Survival kit for newborn baby”.
What do you think?
Love it!
i feel that as mothers dont expect themselves to be perfect, saying that breastmilk is perfect but formula is a good substitute is not a good way to get the message across. mothers know that they cannot achieve perfection, so why bother with the ‘perfect’ food, if there is a ‘good’ substitute?
