Earth Day 2007 will be celebrated on April 22, 2007. According to the Earth Day Network, Earth Day is the largest secular holiday in the world, celebrated by over a half billion people. Groups around the world will participate in events on that day to raise environmental awareness. What better way to commemorate Earth Day than with breastfeeding, the environmentally-friendly choice! The South Shore Breastfeeding Club, a club for breastfeeding mothers living on the south shore of Massachusetts, is planning a “nurse-out.” A nurse-out is an opportunity to call attention to the benefits of breastfeeding and demonstrate the ease of nursing in public. Details for the event are as follows:
April 22, 2007
12 noon – 5 p.m.
Boston Common near Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Boston, Massachusetts*
Bring your nurslings, partners and friends and a picnic lunch if desired
