Personal Blog and Journal Writing: A Poll

I started keeping a journal when I was 10 years old. I kept a handwritten one off and on for the next several years. During college and law school, emails to friends and family became my personal record. Finally, I graduated to keeping a journal on-line. When I started having children, I developed a strong desire to document as much of our lives as possible. I could see how quickly these years are going by, and how quickly I’d forget one stage as we moved on to the next.
With NaBloPoMo coming up in November (and 22 members of the Breastfeeding and Mothering group so far!), the burning question on my mind is: “Do you keep a journal or personal weblog (blog)?”
Please feel free to leave a comment as well.

I’m kinda shocked that I’m the only one who chose handwritten journal. I have been writing in journals since I was about 9!! There is something about having a pen in your hand, and what you write can’t be erased, that feels permanent to me. Like I’m leaving a legacy that can be read like a book someday. Or, maybe I’m just stuck in the dark ages and don’t keep a blog!
Sarah, I’m surprised too! I always liked keeping a handwritten journal and sitting in bed at the end of the day to record my thoughts. I found it harder though once I had kids because my schedule changed. I went to bed when the kids did, and did not stay up later to write.
