Poll Results: Child Care Arrangements

When you first look at the results of the poll on child care arrangements, it looks very weighted in favor of stay at home moms.

However, when you compare the number of responses for “stay at home mom” to all the other responses combined, you get a much different picture.

I think it’s very encouraging to see mothers (and fathers) working out child care arrangements that accommodate continued breastfeeding and/or pumping. I think it’s wonderful when a mom can and does stay home (like me!) but I applaud moms who continue to breastfeed as they go back to work! It’s impressive that 46% of respondents are not traditional stay at home mothers. Let that be an inspiration to all women as they make decisions about breastfeeding, child care and working.
