Poll Results: Does Your Breastfed Child Use a Pacifier?

It was not surprising to me that just over half of the voters said their breastfed children do not use a pacifier. I’m reading a book right now that suggests that many attachment-parented, breastfed children will refuse a pacifier, special blanket or other “lovey” because they are securely attached to people as opposed to objects. I suppose whether or not you see that as a good thing depends on your parenting style and your child’s particular temperament and needs. Certainly a significant number of voters (nearly 35%) said their children either love a pacifier or at least use one occasionally. The complete results:
