My thought would be to sew a loop of fabric on the tail of the sling so that the older brother could grab on. I enjoy having an open tail on a ring sling so that I can use it to cover up while nursing in public or to drape over the baby while in the sun/wind/rain.

My mom and I made a couple of slings when my daughter was a few months old. I only wish I had done it sooner! Now with child #2 I got a gift certificate for an online shop (babyloveslings) and I also purchased a solarveil one from another online shop (sleepingbaby) for the water.

I appreciated seeing how other people (especially people who made them to sell) constructed their shoulder pieces, etc. Now I am excited to experiment with more myself!
