I wonder if anyone has tried wool nursing pads. While they sound scratchy, the manufacturers swear they’re very soft, and the wool naturally contains lanolin (although the lanolin may need to be replenished over time). I suspect these would be easier to air dry than cotton ones.

I had access to a dryer and always threw my cotton nursing pads in the dryer without problems, but I never had to wear pads much (instead of leaking I’d just get mastitis and plugged ducts, which I’m not sure is a fair trade!!)

I’ve had more leaking episodes that I can count, but I actually find nursing pads unbelievably uncomfortable. To be graphic, the disposable pads chafe my nipples.

The unbleached cotton washable pads are much, much softer, but I haven’t found a washing/air drying solution that works best.

Am I alone with these annoyances?
