]]> nablopomo-2008.jpgTime swiftly approaches for this year’s National Blog Posting Month, NaBloPoMo! Bloggers across the blogosphere will sign up to the challenge of posting at least once a day for the entire month of November. Last year I formed a Breastfeeding and Mothering Group, which now consists of 76 members. Are you up to the challenge? (I admit, I am not up to the challenge this year. I find having a 6-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 3-month-old challenging enough at the moment!) You are certainly not limited to posting about breastfeeding — to join our group you simply need to be a current or past breastfeeding mother who writes about the daily life of mothering. This is a great way to find like-minded blogs, get in the habit of writing, and challenge yourself to meet the goal!

Leave a comment to let everyone know whether you’re in or out this year! Past participants are free to leave advice or share their experiences from last year!

Hard to believe it’s been two years of blogging at Breastfeeding 1-2-3! That’s 758 posts, 2,838 comments, and 103,307 spam comments! To celebrate, I am running a contest to give away If These Boobs Could Talk: A Little Humor to Pump Up the Breastfeeding Mom. This book would be perfect for the BTDT (been-there-done-that) breastfeeding mother who is well-established in breastfeeding her baby and can laugh at any bumps in the road along the way. The book description says, “In this humorous tribute to the lactating legacy of breastfeeding moms, Shannon Payette Seip and Adrienne Hedger deliver more than 50 games, trivia questions, quizzes, doodling activities, mock advice columns, and quirky top ten lists on the subject of breastfeeding. When I asked readers to consider including La Leche League in their holiday giving, I did so as part of the Generous December Group Writing Project hosted by Kate at Babylune. Kate kept her word and gave $60 to the charity of choice of the author of the winning post (posts, actually — she chose two!) Not only is Kate generous and giving, she is also a sneaky little Santa and a good friend, even to her friends in the computer like me. Turns out she made donations in honor of all of the 35 entries in the group writing project, including mine! Canadian Kate gave $15 to La Leche League Canada. Thanks Kate! Your gift was a wonderful surprise and it meant a lot to me.
