Judge Denies Request to Keep FLDS Mothers with Nursing Children

On Monday, April 21, 2008, a Texas judge denied a request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) that would have kept mothers from the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) with their nursing children who are in state custody. Of the 437 children placed in Child Protective Services (CPS) for being in danger of sexual and emotional abuse, 77 children are under age two.
