Indiana Breastfeeding Bill Signed into Law

Starting July 1, 2008, a new Indiana law protects breastfeeding in the workplace. The law applies to businesses with 25 or more employees, as well as the state and political subdivisions of the state. Governor Mitch Daniels signed into law the legislation introduced by State Senator Vi Simpson. The enrolled act reads in part:
Chapter 14. Employee Breaks

Breastfeeding Laws Proposed for West Virginia and Indiana

Like Arkansas, West Virginia has not enacted any state law pertaining to breastfeeding. Previous attempts to enact breastfeeding legislation died at the end of the 2005 and 2006 legislative sessions before they reached a final vote.
