You forgot my absolute favorite thing to do while nursing: use my computer! I'd say that I am on my laptop during 90% of my daughter's nursing sessions. It gives me a chance to stay connected to friends through blogs and email, keep my web site up to date, and keep up with the news.

To make this work, I use the sidelying nursing position, or sometimes I sit in our glider with a table next to me. I've become adept at typing with one hand, either one, and I can often maneuver both hands out for real typing once she's happily latched on.

The other advantage is that the laptop can be used in the dark, so I can happily compute while Kayli is nursing herself to sleep at night. It is a great way for me to unwind and relax!
