Top Ten Breastfeeding Forums and Message Boards

If you’re reading a breastfeeding blog you’re probably already pretty web savvy, but I still thought I’d highlight some of the various forums and message boards out there for the support of breastfeeding mothers. There are boards for adoptive breastfeeding, pumping, breastfeeding while pregnant, tandem nursing–you name it. Some are moderated and some even have an expert weigh in occasionally. I don’t have a preference for or affiliation with any of them. With plenty of choices, it’s just a matter of finding one that’s a fit for you!

8. ProMoM (Promotion of Mother’s Milk, Inc.) discussion forums
9. La Leche League mother-to-mother forums
10. Thomas W. Hale, Ph.D., Breastfeeding and Medications forum — anyone can read the messages posted about lactation and drugs, but only health care professionals (lactation consultants, LLL leaders, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other professionals in this field) can post new questions for Dr. Hale.

LiveJournal has an excellent breastfeeding community also. The women on this board are very serious about breastfeeding and committed to helping posters be successful with exclusively breastfeeding their babies. An excellent resource!
