Who Knew? Barbie Is a Lactivist!

Seen one morning in my kitchen:
My 4.5-year-old took the dress off her Barbie doll. My 23-month-old picked up the doll and put it to her mouth. “Aww, how sweet!” I thought. “She’s giving her a kiss! No, wait, she’s nursing!”
I used to worry that my girls got the wrong ideas about body image from Barbie dolls, but clearly they know the true purpose of Barbie’s ample breasts!

Hee hee
It doesn’t take long for them to learn this, does it.
Ours is going through a little phase at the moment. She’s doing the smacking sound with her lips. We weren’t too sure what it was at first, until I had her on MY lap and she was doing it. So it dawned on us she was simulating feeding – and then a little twinkle came into her eye, and then she started giggling. She knew she was doing it!
That’s the best – when the child’s sense of humor starts to come out!
