Chocolate Bytes

A Brownie Pictorial

I’ve always loved blogs that show every step of the creation of something, whether it’s for a recipe or the construction of a bookcase.

Granted, there are some that tend to go a little overboard (I don’t need five pictures of an onion being cut, shot from different angles, but maybe that’s just me!), and then there are those with the perfect amount of pictures, capturing the moment of the author’s intentions perfectly.

While perusing flickr this morning, I came across this pictorial by _tiffany for a batch of brownies. Now, it doesn’t matter if I’ve made something 1,000 times myself, I still like seeing how others do it and what their methods are!

Brownies

1 stick of butter
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup walnuts

Melt butter and chocolates on medium low heat. Remove from heat and add sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. When combined, add eggs one at a time, stirring after each addition. Add flour and and walnuts mix until just combined.

Pour into a greased 8×8 brownie pan. Bake for at least 40 minutes at 325 F. Cool before cutting and serving.

I love the pictorials, too. Especially when it comes to treats as yummy as brownies!
