Chocolat

I’m sure it comes as a huge surprise that one of my favorite movies is Chocolat. It’s one of those that I can watch at any time and I’ve seen it so many times that I can be doing something else (knitting, sewing, whatever) and not really miss anything.
Now, I’m really not any good at movie reviews. I either like it or I don’t and while it’s easier to talk about face-to-face (”That was a good movie.” “Yep.”) that doesn’t really translate well in writing.
So suffice it say, I really like this movie. It’s original, the acting is great (Johnny Depp pre-Pirates), and you’ll be smiling by the end, either from the story or from chocolate overload. Like I said above, there’s so much going on within the story that I can watch it over and over again and haven’t gotten tired of it yet.
So have you seen it? What did you think?

I’ve been a Johnny Depp fan long before Pirates ever came out, so of course I’ve seen this movie. It is one of my favorites. The story line between the mother and daughter is great, and I love how she can tell just what kind of chocolate everyone likes! They need to make more movies related to chocolate. Gives me an excuse to go buy truffles instead of popcorn for movie night!
If you’re looking for another great pre-Pirates Depp movie, try “Benny and Joon!”
Hi Rebecca!
I looved Benny and Joon. In fact, it’s been so long that I think it’s time to watch it again!
