I love making these when the kids want a quick snack and I feel like baking but not doing a lot of measuring and waiting (ie work):

Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies
1 (18.5 oz) package chocolate cake mix
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional)……….
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, stir together the cake mix and baking powder. Add eggs and oil, then mix until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips or other choice of additions (chopped nuts, toffee bits, etc.). Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for five minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Also works well with other cake mixes (yellow, white, devil’s food, confetti, you get the idea) — experiment!

Now that is my kind of recipe and the chocolate chips won’t be an option.
Hey, I make these. But I use brownie mix. Not sure if they taste different. The brownie mix makes them really rich. This is a great recipe though because the cookies turn out so soft as compared to flour cookies.
Do these come out like regular cookies or are they spongy? I once made woopie pies with cake mix by ommiting an egg, and they came out very spongy. I want to try this but only if they’re less sponge and more cookie.
