It had been a while since I’d last made cake mix cookies and I had a box of chocolate cake mix in the pantry. Since I like trying out new recipes to see if I can find our next favorite, I looked online for a new recipe that I hadn’t used before.

This recipe probably won’t be one I use again — the cookies didn’t flatten at all, which isn’t a bad thing, but they ended up getting hard within just a few hours and resembled golf balls more than cookies. They are pretty tasty, though, and with the addition of chocolate chips and walnuts give it a boost of taste and texture.

I love chocolate cake mix cookies, they’re so easy when it’s last minute and your son says… we’re having a —- party tomorrow and I’m supposed to bring something:-)
I must say, these cookies look absolutely delicious! I’m just sorry that they got hard so soon after baking. I wonder why they did that. No matter, that’s what the microwave is for, right?
