In celebration of the fifth Harry Potter movie release today, I offer you a few sources for Chocolate Frogs! I haven’t had a chance to try one of these myself but I plan to when I can get my hands on one. The most economical way to get these seems to be by the case.
Each packet includes 1 crispy rice chocolate frog and 1 collectible Harry Potter lenticular wizard trading card, including but not limited to: Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, Rubeus Hagrid, Voldemort, and the Potter Family themselves.
- Sylvan Lane Shoppe has some for $5.95 each. (Ouch.) They also have “Blood Pops,” “Jelly Slugs,” and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans.
- By the case: Candy Direct wins the case pricing award: $57.37 for a case of 24. Amazon comes through with $88.80 per case (about $3.70 a pack), and Candy Warehouse has the same thing for $78 for the case.
Candy Warehouse also offers (UGH) Chocolate Cockroaches. Even though it’s chocolate I don’t think I could bring myself to bite into one of these. (And what’s with the description — do they want to not sell these things? Gross!).

Just popping by to see whats new in the world of chocolate. As usual something fab. My son would like this stuff. We’ve seen those weird other candies at stores and Cedar (my son) says “no thanks” too gross I guess. I’d have to agree but how cute are chocolate frogs — unless of course you are a frog.
P.S you know whats missing from your chocolate poll? Kisses! that’s my fave quick treat.
Hi Jennifer! My kids were plastered to the monitor while I did the post – they looove HP and wanted me to get some chocolate frogs. Sadly, mama can’t shell out $50 for something that would surely be melted before it reached us anyway.
The thought of those chocolate cockroaches still give me heebie jeebies. (love your son’s name, btw!)
Good point! I think I’ll change the “plain chocolate bar” option to just plain chocolate.
