How Tall Is Your Chocolate?

That large skyscraper model is now the world’s tallest chocolate sculpture. That is one heck of a lot of chocolate! Yes, “tallest chocolate sculpture” is actually a category in the Guinness Book of World Records, and this is the latest model to hold the distinction.

The chocolate sculpture pictured is on display at the FAO Schwartz toy store in New York City. It was “built” by Alain Roby (he’s the guy in the white chef jacket in the photo) who is the senior executive pastry chef of the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.

This chocolate building took over 30 hours to create, is 6.6 metres tall and contains over 1000 kg of chocolate. The windows you see are made from white chocolate. As it is New York City, the sculpture was modelled after the Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. I think I’m ready to move in…
