Sweet Links for August 16

I attempted a Tim Tam Slam this morning and I’ll say again, it’s a good thing these aren’t sold anywhere near me!

Now for some sweet links!

razzberry M&M

- I have got to get my hands on some of these Razzberry M&M’s that Candy Addict wrote about this morning. When did the people at M&M’s decide to just go nuts and try everything under the sun? I’m not complaining by any means – it’s just as fun for us too! More info can be found at the M&M’s site.

- Marye at Baking Delights has recipes for a chocolate sheet cake and Aisa posted chocolate cupcakes. Who doesn’t love a simple chocolate cake? Cooking GadgetsRecipe Divider could come in handy for this. Along that line, check out Foodie Obsessed’s back to school brownie cake.

- Candy.org has reviewed Hershey S’mores. They’ve apparently been around since 2003 but I’ve never even heard of them – anyone else?

- Cybele over at the Candy Blog has been busy as usual. She’s reviewed some very nice looking chocolate sticks (I need some tips on getting people to send me stuff!), Amano Single Origin Bars, and a Milka bar that I did actually see at the store last week but will now have to go back and pick up later. YUM. After I visit Candy Blog I always feel guilty that my lightbox has been sitting half finished in the garage for months.

- Candyblog.org did a review on the simple but still relevant Tootsie Rolls and included a little history with it (though I think the “1986″ is a typo – Wikipedia has it starting at 1896.)

chocolat slab – More chocolate slabs over at Chocablog. Check out the Guinness Luxury Chocolate Truffles too.

- Chef Jules at Gourmet A Go-Go has the most amazing looking Chocolate Berry Tart recipe. Make sure you take a look around at all his other fantastic recipes and pictures.

- Mar’s Bars has reported that the chocolate has been taken out of the Smarties! Have any of my Canadian friends tried these?

- Simply Thrifty has an amazing list of 100 things you can make yourself, including chocolate kisses!

- Sugar Hog has reviewed something that I have actually tried, the Nestle Crunch Crisp.

- Sugar Savvy has a recipe for an extremely easy batch of s’mores fudge.

- And the most interesting for last: The Chocolate Review has tried Peach Kit Kat. Yes, peach. I need to figure out how to try one of these!

  1. I’ve had a Smores from Hershey. They’re actually pretty good.

My article was the most interesting? What an honour! /Zoidberg

Sorry, hi, this is Aisa, Marye’s co-worker. Marye did post the chocolate sheet cake, but I was the one who posted the chocolate cupcakes.

  4. Heather says:

    Apologies, Aisa!

  5. Chef Jules says:

Heather — thanks so much for the mention and the kind words, and links to so much good stuff.

You’re going to get me into trouble! Reeses PB cups w/ banana, Raspberry M&M’s. Good thing I have a kiddie around to justify these purchases. :) Moderation will be my mantra. Now, as to the Smarties sans chocolate — I’ll have to do some investigative field work on these. I’m in Canada, so I will check them out. How can they — the nerve. Really though, I think there will be a boycott of these in future. We used to get the large tubes in our X-Mas stocking when we were kids. I’m very disenchanted w/ the Nestle folks!
