Chocolate Crackle Cookies
8 oz bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 stick unsalted butter at room temperature
1 1/3 cups packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk
1 cup confectioners sugar
Melt chocolate on a heat-proof bowl, or the top of a double broiler, over a pan of simmering water. Set aside to cool. Into a small bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
