Krispy Kreme is celebrating our new president with a free doughnut on Inauguration Day, January 20th!
“Krispy Kreme is taking the inaugural festivities nationwide,” said Ron Rupocinski, executive chef for Krispy Kreme. “We’re inviting our fans in cities across the country, including Washington, D.C., to commemorate this historic day with a favorite American treat.”
The Inauguration Day promotional offer is good for one doughnut of choice per customer on January 20, no purchase necessary. To find a participating store near you, visit the Krispy Kreme locator.

Don’t forget that tomorrow, Election Day, Ben & Jerry’s is offering a free scoop of ice cream at any of their participating Scoop Shops between 5 and 8 pm!
Find your nearest shop here, and you don’t even need a voting sticker now!
(Starbucks is also offering a free tall drip coffee for all customers, and Krispy Kreme will be giving away free star-shaped patriotic donuts if you bring your “I Voted” sticker!)

It’s National Donut Day! As Sandy points out, National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to help raise funds during the Depression and to honor the Salvation Army workers who prepared doughnuts for thousands of soldiers during World War I.
