This month’s contest is going extremely well! With nearly 70 entries I’m actually considering tossing in another t-shirt (to make two prizes for two separate winners!) but I’m still thinking on it so stick around!

b5media will be at Blog World Expo November 7th, 8th and 9th. As a special feature, b5media is going to be hosting some special games during event, including the b5media Poker Game! And, if you happen to be a winner at poker, you’ll walk away with some pretty grand prizes such as iPhones, Wiis, iPods and Xboxes.

Attendees of BlogWorld Expo can collect b5 poker chips throughout the conference in several ways:

Be seen wearing a b5media T-shirt – $1000 chip
Answer b5media trivia – $500 chip
Tell us our secret password – $500 chip (see below)
Awesome swag trade – (depends on how good the swag is!)
Drop business card in box – $250 chip
Use your chips to play poker and win (or lose) even more!
Beat b5media’s CEO – Jeremy Wright – DOUBLE your chances

Each day, b5 will have an auction in our booth (booth #309, at 2:30 Thursday and Friday) and attendees can use their chips to bid on the prizes. As noted, we will be doing a secret password. You can find these passwords in various b5media blogs (including this one!). Participants only need to approach someone in the b5media booth with the password and they will get a token.

So, if you’re going to the Expo – and you’d like to get a $500 chip to start with (so you can bid on the fabulous prizes) – the first secret password is: “b5alicious”.

Watch for more secret passwords scattered about b5media. And let me know if you win any of the b5 prizes, I won’t be able to attend this year! (Sad, I know, but the cost was prohibitive and the husband’s out of state for work during the whole thing so there’s no one to watch the kids in the evening. I’ll live!)

It’s Home and Dining Fall Harvest Scavenger Hunt!

Remember going on scavenger hunts when you were a kid? Sometimes they were the most fun part of a social gathering – wasn’t it fun to being given a list and going off with your teammates to locate feathers, safety pins and purple crayons? b5Media’s Home and Dining Channel also remembers. What better way to reward our loyal readers than with a fun Fall Harvest Scavenger Hunt?

Here’s how it works:

On October 1st, participating Home & Dining blogs will post a list of words. Each day one of those words will appear on a different blog. It could be in a title of a blog post, it could be the posts particular theme that day, or it could just be a word in a paragraph somewhere.

Contest participants will locate each word and write it down. On October 31st, the last day of your contest, send your words to Deb at the email address listed below.

Here’s the rundown:

1. Words and rules will be posted to each participating Home & Dining blog on October 1st.
2. A list of participating blogs will be posted as well.
3. Each day, participants are to check out each participating blog to find which one hosts the day’s word. Sometimes the word will pop out at you, other times it won’t be so obvious.
4. After October 31st, send your lists to Deb at deborahng@gmail.com. Each list should list the word, day it appeared, and blog on which it appeared. Those who complete the scavenger hunt, or have the most entrants, will be entered into a drawing to win a gorgeous autumn gift basket. Entry cutoff date is November 7th.

We hope you enjoy participating in the Fall Harvest Scavenger Hunt! We’re having a blast planning it – and blogging it!

Just a quick post to say hello to the Home & Dining channel’s newest neighbor Brew Ha-Ha, written by J. Christopher Erb. I like the occasional beer and my husband brews his own, so I think we’ll both be bookmarking it. Welcome, J.!
And just so this post isn’t completely devoid of chocolate content, I present some chocolate beer links:
